WELCOME
Phuket
Shop 'til you drop is destined to make the best of your time shopping
in Phuket as well as save you lots of money. We will take you to places
and shops that you may never find on your short stay. In the past you
needed to go to Bangkok for any serious shopping, Phuket now has
shopping opportunities to satisfy all but the most fanatical shopaholic.
In addition to the roadside stalls and markets, there are quite a few shopping centres and department stores, as well as a good selection of boutiques and
specialty shops. Fine examples of traditional handicrafts, textiles,
gems, jewellery and antiques as well as clothing and everyday items are
sold all over the island.
The
best bargains and widest range of goods are found in Phuket City and
Patong. Though there are plenty of shops and stalls to be found in
beach areas such as Kata and Karon. About 80km all round Phuket Island,
there are many great shops and markets open day and night.
Markets
are what shopping in Thailand is all about. The street markets in the
beach areas sell all kinds of clothing, such as “brand name” t-shirts,
DVD movies, watches, along with gift and souvenir items. Remember to
compare prices, and bargain hard but with a smile. Ill-tempered
bargaining will get you nowhere in Thailand.
All
along the beach road south of Soi Bangla and down a few of the small
alleys are stalls and shops selling cheap designer goods, beach wear,
watches, some electrical goods and souvenir items. Quite a few stalls
and shops are open during the day but the street really comes alive in
the evenings.
Items listed below are most commonly available which saves you approximately 30-70 % as purchased in Australia and New Zealand.
